Frequently Asked Questions

The following are frequently asked questions and resulting answers that may help you to learn about Stephanie Greenwell Photography and how to go about booking a session. Please feel free to email or call if you need further guidance or answers to questions not listed below.

BOOKING A SESSION
When is the best time to book a session?
Because session dates are limited, it is best to book as early as possible. Many dates are booked 3-6 months in advance. Early booking specials are offered from time to time, so be sure to check out the “Specials” tab on the left side of this page.

How do I go about booking a session?
You may email or call me at 573.724.9202 or use the “Contact” form on the above menu bar to set up a session. Based on my current schedule, I can let you know what is available. I try to fulfill your request for specific dates, but sometimes scheduled session dates have already booked. Rest assured, I will make every effort to accomodate your request or alternative request. Once your session date is selected, you will receive an email confirming your booking request, along with the digital portrait agreement, which also must be filled out to confirm your booked session.

Do I have to pay anything upfront to book a session?
Yes, your session fee is required to book and schedule your date. This ensures that you are committed to keeping your session with Stephanie Greenwell Photography and ensures that your session date is secured. The session fee is non-refundable, but can be transferred once due to cancellation of extenuating circumstance. The session fee DOES NOT include any prints or digital files.

PRODUCT & PRICING
What are your prices?
You can find basic pricing for session fees, as well as print pricing on the pricing page. Again, your session fee is required to book and schedule your date, and a minimum purchase of $400 is required for full sessions, and a $200 minimum purchase is required for specially-announced demi(half) sessions.

Do you offer collections or do you sell everything a la carte?
Collections and a la carte products are both offered at Stephanie Greenwell Photography. Of course, collections provide a greater discount over purchasing a la carte, up to 40% off, but clients are encouraged to purchase in the manner that best fits their needs. Collections begin at $500 for portrait sessions, and $600 for senior sessions. A la carte pricing begins at $50 for desk prints and $125 for wall prints. Specialty products are also available for purchase starting at $75.

Why are desk (paper) prints (8×10, 5×7, or set of 8 wallets) all priced the same?
All desk prints are priced the same because it takes the same amount of effort to produce the artistically-created image that you see on these prints. The cost of the actual paper on which this image is printed varies minimally between the sizes. What you are paying for is the actual image that has been produced from your session, not the paper itself. Think of an painter selling their artwork – their creative, artistic vision is what a client pays for, not the canvas on which it is painted.

Do you offer digital files?
Yes, I offer digital files, as well as web-sharing only files. In this day of online networking, where image-sharing and storage are pertinent, I like to offer my clients to ability to share and keep their images as backup for many years. Single digital files begin at $150(with minimum purchase), with discounts provided for 5-, 10- and full-sets of digital files. Digital images are also included in some collections. Web-sharing files are also available with a minimum purchase.

Can I edit my purchased digital files?
No, you may not edit, re-edit, or manipulate digital files that are purchased or received as a free items based on your total order. I’ve taken great strides in preparing your files/images in the manner of the style that fits my artistic vision. Not only that, but these files/images are copyrighted works of art and therefore are protected under the Federal Copyright Law.

Can I crop out the logo on the watermarked web images (Facebook)?
No, you may not crop out the logo or crop any of the images uploaded for you to Facebook. Doing so will take away from the artistic vision of the image created. Please do not crop or try to remove the logo on these images as this helps to protect me from online thieves who steal images for profit, which violates Federal Copyright Law.

IMAGE VIEWING, ORDERING, & PAYMENT
When and how will I see my images from the session?
About two weeks after our session together, your selected web-optimized, watermarked proofs will be uploaded to a private, password-protected gallery for your viewing for 5 days only. This gallery will contain 20-25 images (full sessions) or 8-10 images (demi sessions). You will receive an email containing the link to your gallery, along with a password and instructions for ordering. You will be in charge of your gallery, which means that only you can allow others to view your gallery. If you need to extend your gallery viewing, you may do so for three (3) days for $75.

Will I be able to save the images from my gallery?
No! You are not allowed to save, capture, print, or use any other method of retrieving image proofs from your gallery. This includes capturing or saving to your mobile phone. Doing so violates Federal Copyright Law(see the accompanying Federal Copyright section below).

How do I order from my gallery of images?
From your client page, you’ll be able to view the order form online and submit online as well. Upon submitting, you will receive an email with a copy of your order to save for your records. Any changes that need to be made after you have submitted your order will need to be made clear via email.

Once I order, how long will it take for me to receive my prints?
Upon receiving your order, an invoice will be totaled with local sales tax added to the order and an email will be sent back to you with the total invoice attached. You will have up to 2 days to make your payment. Once your payment clears, your packaged order will be ready for pick-up (delivery, if local) within 2-3 weeks. Please note that orders that must be shipped will incur a minimum $10 shipping fee based on the size of the package to be shipped.

What forms of payment are accepted?
Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, money order, or credit/debit cards via Paypal. If paying by check, your check must clear before it’s accepted as final payment. Returned checks will receive a $25 returned check fee added to the final order. A payment plan is also available for orders that exceed $750 and a payment plan fee will be added to the order.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
Are you a member of any professional organizations?
Yes, I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) organization. You can read more about PPA here. My profile is also listed under the “Find A Photographer” search engine through PPA. I’m also a member of a few online organizations, one of which is geared towards professional women photographers.

FEDERAL COPYRIGHT LAW
What is Federal Copyright Law? How does that affect me?
Under the Federal Copyright Act of 1976 (effective January 1, 1978 and amended when the USA joined the Berne Convention in 1989), photographs are protected by copyright from the moment of creation. (taken from PPA.) What this means in basic terms, is that images created by photographers are protected on this federal law and those who violate it are subject to fines and penalties. The prints your receive from Stephanie Greenwell Photography are protected under Federal Copyright Law. You are not allowed to copy, scan, reproduce, save, alter, edit, print or reprint, save or capture from the web, or use any other method other than the intended use as deemed by me, Stephanie Greenwell. Committing any of these acts infringes upon the Federal Copyright Law. It is considered stealing, just like if you went to a store and walked out with something for which you didn’t intend to pay. Please respect my work, my business and my art. If you’d like more information about what Copyright entails, please refer to this website.

BUSINESS HOURS & CONTACT INFORMATION
What are your hours of business?
Hours for contact are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After 4 p.m., I no longer take phone calls, emails, or texts, but will gladly respond on the next business day. I’m also a mother and wife and my family needs are tended to in the evenings. Occasionally, I may be able to respond immediately, but please expect that most times I will not do so until the next business day. Sessions are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays only, but occasionally a different day of the week can be worked out if needed.

How can I get in touch with you?
Email is the best option to contact me. Please email me at stephaniegreenwell@sbcglobal.net or use the “Contact” option on the menu bar above. You may also call or text me at 573.724.9202, but I’d prefer email so that I can reference it later.

My son Seth is a Senior at Caruthersville and is interested in making an appointment with you for his senior pictures. Hope we haven’t waited too late. He is a musician and would like to have some pictures made with his guitar. We have no idea for a location. You can contact us at the above email.
